American Soldier Slide Show and Caption
  • In some cases videos are better then photographs because, they can show or explain to you more then just looking at a picture.
  • In other cases Photos can be better then videos because, they give you a chance to image whatever you want to be happening in the picture. And can show you more detail sometimes.
  • The other features help to enhance the photos because they are shown through a different way and give you a more visual image.

American Soldier Slide show & caption
  1. I would say the most powerful image for me, was the one were he was with his family, hugging them. This was powerful because he was like reuniting with them.

  3. Basic Training; Image #10 to Image #30
  4. Iraq; Image #51 to Image #70
  5. Back to Denver; Image #73 to Image #80
    1. The most powerful group of pictures to me where the ones while he was in Iraq, because they showed the struggle that he went through being away from his family.
    2. The images when put together tell a story because, they show the struggles, hardship, experiences and achievements that he has been through and how the end turned out to work for him.
    3. Past tense.
    4. The captions enhance the photos because, They help you imagine even better the situations that he was in and you can almost picture you there too sometimes.

Shutter speed Questions
A.) I would have probably shot with a Low shutter speed so you can really see the person getting dunked in & a High shutter speed because i think it would have given a really cool and quick looking affect.
B.) I would have shot with a Low shutter speed i think to really capture the light & setting.
C.) I probably would have shot a food eating contest with a high shutter rate because you would be able to see a lot of the detail and the speed that they are going would be a little exaggerated.
D.) I would definitely shoot the rock climbing wall in a low shutter rate to give it a cool almost cereal look if I got it at a creative angle.
E.) In order to get a good picture if a DJ/MC working in the middle of everyone I would use a high shutter rate so that he would pop out more and be more noticeable  and look more creative with his background.
F.) To get the diamonds performing I would shoot that with a Low shutter rate so that, I could get the movements they were doing and the actual performance would look cool.
ISO Questions
  1.  It would be better to take a photo of a sporting event or night football game with the a higher ISO, because It captures the image pop out more and is more sensitive to the light so you see more details (Noise)
  2. The suggestions the author makes are things like; At a scene where you want to capture more detail or have you image stand out more, you would use a higher ISO.
  3. The author also suggests that if you want to take a photo that has or shows less Noise or detail then you would use a lower ISO.
